Spring Outing at The Framework Knitters 19th March 2025, Ruddington.
Join us for a self drive outing to the Framework Knitters Museum,
Ruddington, Nottingham on Wednesday 19th March 2025. Our
guided tour begins at 11.00am.
The Museum is a unique surviving example of a 19th century
framework knitter’s yard. Discover how framework knitters and their
families lived and worked here in Victorian times, although it goes
back some 400 years and gave birth to the Nottingham Lace
Industry
The Parker’s Yard Cafe will be open for a coffee before the tour
and for a light lunch/snack afterwards if you wish. There is also a
craft and gift shop and the Chapel Art Gallery to browse.
Click here for the museum website.
Anstey Wallpaper Museum (which, strangely, is sited near the Bell Foundry in
Loughborough) is planned for February.

90-Minute Guided Visit to Wrights Factory, Quorn, Wednesday 6th July 2022
Now that the Pandemic is subsiding, we are resuming our TASC Outings and Visits, albeit
starting gradually.
As I explained at yesterday’s very successful lecture by John Benjamin, Wrights Fabric &
Strap Factory in Quorn have agreed to give us a guided tour with George Wright, Diane’s
son.
Beaumanor Hall, Woodhouse: Guided Tour and Afternoon Tea 28th November 2019.
This pre-Christmas visit was popular and was oversubscribed. Members found the
account of how the Hall functioned as part of the Bletchley Park Intelligence Enterprise
during WWII to be very interesting.
The Manor, Hemmingford Grey, Huntingdonshire Tuesday 11th June 2019, via a
coach from The Quorndon Fox leaving at 10 am and returning at 5.30pm. This was well
supported, and members enjoyed a most interesting tour of the House in two groups with
lunch in the village pub beforehand.
Visit to Donington le Heath Manor House, Guided Tour, Thursday 4th April 2019,
11.30 am, self-drive. This was well supported going to a local venue that counts as a bit
of a “hidden gem”.
